AKA Terms of Service

Welcome to Aligned Knowledge Academy (AKA). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our training programs, including online courses, virtual instructor-led training, in-person courses, certification programs, and customized course content ("Services"). These Terms also apply to all student-to-student interactions in physical classrooms, virtual classrooms, and all content sharing and exchanges on our platform, including in community pages.


Access to your account is a privilege, not a right, and does not confer ownership of the account or any content. All accounts and associated content remain the exclusive property of Aligned Knowledge Academy (AKA). Your account may be suspended or terminated at any time for your actions, violations of these Terms, or at the sole discretion of AKA due to corporate decisions, including but not limited to acquisition, changes to services, insolvency, or other business actions. By enrolling in or accessing our Services, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.


1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Services.


2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old or have legal guardian consent to use our Services. By accessing our Services, you confirm that you meet these requirements.


3. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information during registration.

  • Use the Services solely for personal or organizational learning purposes.

  • Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and these Terms.


You agree not to:

  • Copy, distribute, reproduce, or modify any course materials or customized course content without prior written consent.

  • Share login credentials or provide unauthorized access to your account.

  • Engage in any activity that disrupts or interferes with the Services.


4. Respectful Communication and Conduct

Respectful and professional communication is required at all times between students, instructors, and representatives of Aligned Knowledge Academy (AKA), as well as among students. This includes interactions during classes, in community portals, video screen sharing, personal avatar images, personal video sharing, chat features, and instant messaging features.


Failure to uphold this standard of communication may result in:

  • Removal from the class.

  • Suspension of platform privileges.

  • Termination of your account, including the loss of previously paid-for courses, materials, content, and the revocation of any certifications granted.


5. Confidential Information

All materials, content, methodologies, and information provided during the delivery of the Services, including customized course content ("Confidential Information"), are the proprietary property of Aligned Knowledge Academy (AKA) and are protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.

You agree:

  • Not to share, copy, reproduce, distribute, or otherwise disseminate Confidential Information without prior written permission.

  • To use Confidential Information solely for your own educational purposes.

  • To return or destroy Confidential Information upon request or upon completion of the Services.


Unauthorized use or distribution of Confidential Information will result in immediate termination of access to the Services and may lead to legal action.


6. Intellectual Property Rights

All course materials, customized course content, trademarks, logos, and related content are owned by Aligned Knowledge Academy (AKA) or its licensors. Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights to use our intellectual property for commercial purposes, including but not limited to rewriting, repackaging, or resale. This also includes any content you share or exchanges you have with other students on the AKA platform or in physical classrooms, such as ideas, concepts, refinements to these ideas, or suggestions for improvements to course materials, which do not constitute ownership in any way, shape, or form. Unauthorized use of intellectual property is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate termination of access to the Services, along with legal action.


7. Payment and Refund Policy

Payments: Payments for courses and programs must be made in advance unless otherwise agreed.
Refunds: Requests for refunds can be sent to [email protected]. Conditions for refunds include:

  • The course has not been initiated by the user.

  • Refunds are processed only after written approval for a refund.  Refunds are not guaranteed and subject to evaluation on a case-by-case basis.


8. Customized Course Content

If you purchase or participate in customized course content, the following additional terms apply:

  • Customized content is created based on your specific needs and requirements.

  • You agree not to share, copy, reproduce, or distribute the customized course content without prior written consent from Aligned Knowledge Academy (AKA).

  • Feedback or modifications to customized content will be addressed at our discretion, and additional charges may apply.


9. Respect for Employees

We value the professionalism and well-being of our employees and contractors. You agree to treat all Aligned Knowledge Academy (AKA) employees and representatives with respect and courtesy. Abusive, threatening, or inappropriate behavior toward our staff may result in termination of access to the Services without a refund.


10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Services for violations of these Terms or any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination, you must cease using the Services and return or destroy all Confidential Information.


11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by the laws of the Province of Ontario:
Aligned Knowledge Academy (AKA) is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use of the Services or the use of content. Total liability is limited to the amount paid by you for the specific Service giving rise to the claim.


12. Privacy

We respect your privacy. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for details on how your personal information is collected, used, and protected.


13. Dispute Resolution

AKA strives to ensure the best possible experience every time. When that doesn't happen, we will do our best to improve.

All disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of the Province of Ontario, Canada. By accessing the Services, you agree to submit to the jurisdiction of these courts.


14. Integrity Clause

If any clause or provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unenforceable, or inapplicable under applicable law, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. Such invalidity shall not affect the enforceability of the remaining clauses, which will be interpreted as closely as possible to the original intent.


15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will always be available on our website. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
